REL T9X Subwoofer, Gloss Grey Overview
The REL T9X Subwoofer is the top-end model of REL's T/X series and makes an ideal subwoofer for medium-large rooms in music or theatre applications. As with the rest of REL's T/X series, the REL T9X features a Class A/B amplifier for top-of-the-range performance. This is accompanied by a 300-watt RMS power output capacity helping you fill larger rooms and reach your desired SPL. Both the forward-firing driver and floor-firing radiator have a long-throw capability and stiffer suspension for faster attack and greater transparency.
Despite being the largest of REL's T/X series, the REL T9X is still a comfortable size, designed with looks in mind as well as performance. Curved edges; logo-detailed feet and drivers; an optional front grille; and glossy hand-polished lacquer in either black, white or grey demonstrate REL's attention to design.

The REL T9X, part of REL Acoustics’ T/X subwoofer series, is the top-of-the-range model. It sits above the T/5x and T/7x in terms of power and performance and is ideal for intermediate or advanced hi-fi enthusiasts with a bigger budget and larger room to fill. Being a step up from the T/7x, the REL T9X is slightly bigger physically, coming in at 370 x 340 x 393 mm, with a 10-inch driver on the front face and underside. Its 300-watt power output makes this a great choice for medium-to-large rooms in either music or cinema applications.
Looks matter
In addition to functionality and sonic performance, REL also prides themselves on their visually stunning subwoofers. For REL engineers, design and performance go hand in hand, creating cabinets that support powerful sound without an overly bulky appearance. Rounded corners create a more compact form, improve structural integrity, and enhance sound clarity by reducing edge diffraction and ensuring a uniform frequency response. To finish, REL have coated the cabinets with layers of glossy lacquer.
Forward- and floor-firing
The REL T9X has two 10-inch drivers. The first of these is a forward-firing active driver, projecting its sound more directly towards your listening position for greater impact. The other is a downward-firing passive driver, helping to pick up extra throw and disperse sound through your room. These drivers combine to deliver both clarity and speed in their sound output. While being more reactive and transparent than previous models, the REL T9X simultaneously boasts greater volume and power thanks to the stiffer critical suspension.
Lustrous lacquer
The REL T9X is available in various luxurious finishes. The standard models come in black, grey, and white gloss, with an outer shell receiving five coats of lacquer, hand-polished to perfection. The T/9x Red, a special edition, epitomises the bold elegance of Rosso Corsa, with seven layers of lacquer and acoustic performance to match its Italian Racing aesthetic.
Class A/B reliability
REL knows subwoofers and what works well. The REL T9X features a 300-watt Class A/B monoblock amplifier, a design staple since the T series launched in 2007. Its advanced mosfet designs and integrated heat sinks ensure exceptional performance and reliability, with streamlined 8ms input filters and intuitive rotary controls ensuring a hassle-free setup.
Wireless without compression
While wired connections are still the best way to enjoy high-fidelity audio, the REL T9X can be used in conjunction with REL’s Arrow System for wireless connectivity without the usual compression of sound quality. By adding the Arrow System (optional and sold separately), experience the convenience of going wireless by repositioning your subwoofer wherever it suits you.
