To make a life-sized impression, a full-blown surround system needs a centre channel just as formidable as the front-channel speakers. The new Debut C5.2 paints a majestic soundstage that makes movies and music come alive. New dual front ports allow placement in cabinets or against the wall without compromising bass frequencies.
A new silk-dome tweeter features a wide-roll surround and takes response up to 35,000 Hz for even more lifelike high frequencies. The waveguide improves directivity control and eliminates the diffraction modes inherent in traditional box enclosures.
The revised shape of the aramid cone offers even greater stiffness and damping, far superior to polypropylene or paper. The added strength allows more flexibility in design to achieve a smoother, extended low-frequency response.
Thick MDF cabinets with a luxurious black ash vinyl finish are larger, and internally braced for greater stiffness and strength, greatly reducing cabinet vibrations which cause unwanted colouration. Moving the bass port to the front of the cabinet on the bookshelf and centre channel means placement against walls or in bookshelves won't compromise performance.
Recognising that in a multi-channel system, the majority of sound comes through the centre speaker, ELAC has optimised sensitivity and impedance to minimise the power requirement from the AV receiver, maximising dynamic impact from lower-cost receivers. The C5.2 is also designed to operate alongside all the speakers from the acclaimed Debut 2.0 series, allowing you to enjoy a cinematic soundstage at an affordable price.
