The front porting design allows you to place the Vokal next to another cabinet or against the wall without compromising its sonic performance. Thanks to Soft Magnetic Compound technology, mechanical distortion from the conductive magnetic field is significantly reduced. Crafted from lightweight MDF through CNC machining and wrapped in high-grade laminate, the Vokal's cabinet offers structural strength and rigidity. At the heart of the Oberon signature is the 29mm oversized ultra-soft dome tweeter, known for its lightweight design and ferro-fluid cooling system that keeps it performing at its best. The SMC driver boasts a wooden fibre cone combined with paper pulp, featuring a two-layer voice coil diaphragm and a large ferrite ring magnet with a 10mm SMC crown, preserving the iconic Dali Oberon character. Cabinet

The cabinet construction of the OBERON Vokal is composed from high-density CNC machined MDF board - dressed in carefully selected high-grade vinyl. The very rigid construction of the centre speaker cabinet is due to solid bracing across the inside of the cabinet for reinforcement. This improves the stiffness and practically eliminates resonance within the cabinet.

Tweeter

The oversized 29 mm ultra-lightweight soft dome tweeter was specifically developed for the OBERON series - including the OBERON Vokal - combining well proven technologies from the existing DALI ranges with new features. The large size of the membrane lets the tweeter generate higher sound pressure with less excursion, keeping the voice coil motion to a precise minimum.

Woofer

The 2 x 5.25" SMC based woofers used in the OBERON Vokal are dedicated to reproduce the delicate midrange and bass frequency area. The OBERON woofers have been optimised with a new wood fibre structured cone, which is constructed from a blend of fine grain paper pulp reinforced with wood fibres. This creates a stiff, light-weight and well-behaving structure.

Easy Integration

DALI makes it easy to integrate your loudspeakers into any room. Both the driver materials and geometry applied in the OBERON series has been selected to achieve a wide dispersion pattern in the listening area. The same principles have been applied in the design of the crossover. An added benefit is seriously reduced harmonic distortion and frequency distortion, as these will always be stronger in an on-axis response. This is also the reason why all DALI speakers are not designed to be toed-in.

Finishes

The DALI OBERON series is available in four finishes: Black Ash, White, Dark Walnut and Light Oak. Matched with a matte black or white front baffle. The OBERON series introduces a brand new front grille design with rounded edges that add a lighter and contemporary visual look to the speaker series. 'Mountain Grey' is the standard grille supplied with the light finishes while Shadow Black is standard on the dark finishes. Marshmallow White is available as an accessory.

SMC

Mechanical distortion caused by hysteresis and eddy currents is greatly reduced due to the use of Soft Magnetic Compound (SMC) in the OBERON Vokal woofer. This improvement in the magnet motor system results in a lowering of the third order distortion. This allows the OBERON Vokal to present longer listening pleasure with a relaxed midrange and a surprising amount of detailing for the class.
