Klipsch Reference Premiere Series speakers feature a compressed moulded silicon face that's matted to the 90x90 Tractrix horn to reduces horn resonance for a smoother frequency response. Klipsch computer modelled phase plugs acts as a mechanical filter to further ensure a smooth, flat frequency response while protecting the tweeter from damage.
The titanium tweeter’s lightweight yet rigid diaphragm exceeds the performance of aluminium, polymer or silk tweeters. With a vented design, this reduces standing waves behind the tweeter diaphragm for smoother high-frequency reproduction. Klipsch award-winning Linear Travel Suspension technology leverages a responsive piston motion with ceramic magnet housing to provide premium performance.
Another signature feature of Klipsch’s Reference Premiere series, the Cerametallic woofers have for years impressed listeners with their sweeping dynamic voice, minimised distortion and exceptional power handling. Now Klipsch has innovated the classic design; 70 percent larger voice coils, new aluminium shorting rings and enhanced motor structure all imbue the spun copper woofers with flawless speed and control.
Klipsch Cerametallic cones are matted to a dual-layer, copper-wound voice coil for exceptional conductivity. Reference Premiere woofers are housed in a non-resonating, stamped-steel basket that’s secured to a large magnet motor for exceptional efficiency and low distortion, and matched to Klipsch’s horn-loaded tweeters for optimal acoustic execution.
Tractrix geometry is utilised throughout the Klipsch Reference Premiere range. Along with the Tractrix horn, Reference Premium Speakers use a Tractrix-designed port, with proprietary inner flares, to allow for the most efficient air transfer from the cabinet with minimised port turbulence, resulting in cleaner audio reproduction with much more powerful bass.
The Ebony and Walnut finishes boast satin-painted baffles with a scratch-resistant design. In addition, the cast aluminium feet provide a modern look with less resonance than MDF or ABS plastic. It is mechanically designed to minimise surface area in contact with the floor, decoupling the speaker for faster, tighter low frequencies and more detail.
