Ortofon 2MR Red Moving Magnet Cartridge

The Ortofon 2MR Red Cartridge has been designed for tonearms with a low ride height, featuring a cartridge body that is three millimetres shorter than the standard 2M model. The "R" quite simply means "Reduced" suited to certain tonearms from turntable manufacturers like Pro-Ject, Rega, and Linn where the correct vertical tracking angle (VTA) is not adjustable or compatible with larger mounting heights.

The 2MR is otherwise unchanged and uses the same high-performance technology as the standard 2M Red. It even features the same stylus, which makes it easy to swap out or upgrade to the 2M Blue Stylus if you choose. With its tipped elliptical diamond stylus profile, this cartridge balances greater tracking and retrieval of the information in the record groove whilst remaining affordable, providing an open and dynamic sound.
