The JBL Stage A180 5.1 Speaker Package is a full five channel surround system that puts you directly in the centre of a confident and dynamic soundscape that will instantly elevate any home movie theatre. It consists of the JBL A180 Floorstanding, A130 Bookshelf, and A135C Centre Speaker, with the A120P (the largest subwoofer in the range) providing compelling bass.
With decades of experience designing and manufacturing speakers for use in cinemas, the JBL stage series borrows from that knowledge and trickle-down technology from premium ranges. Featuring a combination of HDI waveguide geometry and polycellulose drivers, this speaker package limits distortion and delivers smooth and strong surround sound.

High-Definition Imaging (HDI)
JBL use their proprietary High-Definition Imaging (HDI) technology throughout the speakers in this package. This waveguiding geometry ensures that their drivers are capable of delivering sound more efficiently and directionally than their contemporaries. The result is a crisper high-range, with every musical note directed towards the listener rather than dispersed, uncontrolled, around the room. A more controlled frequency also ensures smoother sounding transition between drivers.
Versatile Polycellulose Woofers
This speaker package features a range of woofer sizes, from the dual 6.5-inch drivers of the A180, to the six 3-inch drivers of the A135C and the power of the 12-inch woofer in the A120P. The common connection is that they all use the same basic materials and design to exhibit exceptional control and bass. This polycellulose construction allows the drivers to be better manipulated by the amplifier, even in the most demanding of moments. The result is JBL’s signature cinema quality bass.
Bi-wire / Bi-amping Terminals
Turn around the JBL A180 and you will find that the five-way binding posts are perfectly suited for a range of connections and setups, with an impedance at 6 ohms and an excellent 90dB sensitivity. Match these speakers with your choice of amplifier, with a recommended power compatibility between 20 and 225W. The versatility and relative comfort at which these speakers can be run opens them to both bi-wire and bi-amp installations, letting you dedicate power to high and low frequencies independently*.
The Power of Control
The A120P has a plethora of configuration options on its rear panel so you can harmonise it with the speakers of this or any 5.1 system you are running. With an adjustable crossover level between 50Hz and 150Hz, make the transition to your subwoofer sound smooth, with room to cover the bass of smaller speakers with weaker low frequency capabilities. In addition, you will find a phase reverse switch to integrate the driver's motion with the rest of your setup, better blending with the sound of your speakers.
Mid-sized, large sound
The JBL A180 is the middle size floorstanding speaker in the Stage range. Measuring at a metre tall, these speakers are the perfect mix of bass and bulk. Without completely dominating the room, the A180s will act as a statement centrepiece of your home cinema system. With a professional looking matte black cabinet contrasting against the white polycellulose drivers, these speakers also come with rubber or spike feet, meaning they can be safely placed on hard or carpeted floor alike.
*Please Note
Only the JBL Stage Floorstanding speakers have been fitted with high and low frequency binding posts suitable for bi-wire and bi-amping configurations. This function does not appear in the bookshelf or centre speakers.
