QLED means “Quantum Light-Emitting Diode”. It is a type of display technology found in TVs and works similarly to LED, using a backlight to produce images. However, the main difference is that QLED introduces a layer of nanoparticles called quantum dots, capable of filtering intensely purer colours.
QLED TVs have the advantage of high luminosity. Images displayed on QLED TVs are vibrant, with whites and bright colours appearing noticeably purer and life-like. This improves contrast and also means you can watch in rooms with higher ambient light, especially if partnered with anti-glare.
4K indicates the number of pixels in your TV, whereas QLED is an advanced back-lit display technology. Although the pixel count actually numbers around 8.3 million, the term 4K refers to the 3,840 pixels along the horizontal axis of the screen. The two technologies often appear in the same TV.
