The Yamaha R-N402D Stereo Hi-Fi Receiver with MusicCast is a receiver and network audio player all-in-one. It comes with MusicCast, Yamaha’s own whole-home technology for multiroom music control. MusicCast is Yamaha’s own whole-home technology, intended to push the boundaries of wireless sound technology and bring convenience to your audio experiences. MusicCast lets you share music throughout multiple rooms of your home and across variously located devices and speakers using wireless network connections like Bluetooth, AirPlay and all your favourite streaming platforms. Lossless formats are supported so you can listen just as the artist intended.
MusicCast App
Control all the audio from your AV receivers, soundbars, Bluetooth speakers and more with the MusicCast App. Not only can you stream wirelessly across an array of digital streaming services, but you can also share the sound from a compatible CD player, TV, Vinyl, or other media player to speakers around your home. With the MusicCast App, manage the different rooms of your home, select your desired streaming sources, and adjust your track listing – all in one place.
Network
The R-N402D is both a receiver and network audio player in one compact unit. It can be used for streaming music via popular platforms like Spotify, TIDAL, or Deezer (among many others), and playing various other file formats downloaded from the internet and stored on your devices. With network connectivity, internet radio can also be streamed for access to a plethora of stations.
Wireless Capability
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and AirPlay offer comprehensive wireless connectivity from the R-N402D. Pair compatible smart devices and stream the audio content you desire from a wide range of streaming services, internet radio apps, or video hosting platforms like YouTube. With AirPlay, share audio and visual content across Apple devices with ease, all without the need for additional wiring.
Bluetooth
SBC and AAC Bluetooth codecs allow the transfer of data between your Bluetooth device and such units as wireless speakers or wireless headphones—ideal for private listening without disturbing others.
Digital Radio
Access Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB and DAB+) with the R-N402D for access to an abundance of high-quality radio stations. Automatically tune in to your favourite radio stations with space for 40 station pre-sets. Save yourself time and jump straight into the radio programmes you love right as you want them. The R-N402D will also display the station name for you for an easy indication of the tuning status.
USB Connectivity
With a convenient USB port located on the front panel of the R-N402D, quickly tap into the files saved on your USB flash drives. This convenient feature lets you play the music you love which may not be available on streaming platforms. By connecting digitally, you are sure to hear the music in high quality too.
Gapless
While some media players routinely insert gaps between different songs to space them out, this may not always be your wish. Especially when listening to records which were produced with continuity between tracks, you may wish to hear them segue into one another exactly as intended. With Gapless Playback on the R-N402D, you can choose to remove the gap between tracks. Compatible across WAV, FLAC, AIFF and ALAC file formats, and input from USB / DLNA / DMP.
High Performing DAC
A BurrBrown 192kHz/24-bit digital-to-analogue converter (DAC) ensures that sound passed through the R-N402D is of top quality. The receiver supports several formats including WAV and FLAC, as well as Apple Lossless 96 kHz/24-bit, DSD 5.6 MHz and AIFF 192 kHz/24-bit.
Digital Inputs
Optical and coaxial input ports are situated on the R-N402D to receive digital audio from TVs or Blu-ray players respectively. By keeping the digital sound format, rather than converting it, you can hear the pure audio in its intended quality and condition. From sports on your TV to films on Blu-ray, connect to the R-N402D for the sound you deserve.
Design
The R-N402D uses a simple and elegant design, in keeping with Yamaha’s broad catalogue of audio products. The black aluminium used across the unit is finished with a horizontal hairline texture for added character. The various function buttons and knobs across the front panel are constructed using the same premium materials as many high-end Yamaha receiver models. A remote control accompanies the unit for further operability.
