The RP-5000F Floorstanding Speakers feature Klipsch's proprietary Tractrix horn-loaded technology. This efficiently directs high-frequency sounds towards the listener, reducing the amount of sound that bounces off walls to cause unwanted reverberation. The result of these more efficiently directed high frequencies is a clearer and more lifelike high-end performance.
Driver Design
As well as proprietary horn-loading, the RP-5000Fs tweeter also features Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) as so many of the Reference lines from Klipsch have done. In addition to a tweeter, you will also find two of Klipsch's distinctive copper cerametallic woofers. These are exceptionally rigid yet lightweight meaning they are superbly efficient without the downside of distortion.
Tractrix Ports
Tractrix geometry is also used to make the rear port of these floorstanders highly efficient. It lets air transfer from the cabinet faster for less port noise and stronger, more impactful bass performance. A custom inner flare on these ports also reduces the possibility of turbulence entering the speaker port to enhance the potential for clean, noise-free bass.
