Q Acoustics stylish entry into the sub/sat market made a pretty astonishing début with the Q7000 package, the Q7000i take that success and runs with it. The same unique shapes are there in the five satellite speakers but now their sturdy aluminium cabinets sport a sleek matt finish. Supplied complete with stands which double as wall brackets, the set is ready to go from the offset although there are optional floor stands and even a wall bracket for the subwoofer for even more flexible installation options.

The soundstage is large, precise and very impressive for a satellite speaker system, what these speakers lack in size they more than make up for where performance is concerned, punching well above their weight. Thats no surprise as there is nothing off-the-shelf here, all the drive units are custom designed for the infinite baffle aluminium cabinets which employ additional damping materials to reduce resonances. The twin 75mm woofers and 25mm "ring radiator" tweeter might not have the dimensions of a traditional bookshelf speaker, but theye certainly capable of incredible accuracy.

The 7070Si subwoofer is not tiny, but impressively compact and interestingly designed for a sub with that much power. Instead of traditional down-firing or front-firing design it employs an internal driver with a front cover and grille around the top, bottom and side of the unit. This makes placement a lot more flexible and the smart cable & controls cover on the side of the unit makes the 7070Si one of the smartest looking subwoofers on the market.
