Key Features
The Marantz PM6007 Amp w/ B&W 607 S2 Anniversary Speakers bundle joins two HiFi household names in a comprehensive stereo home music system. The shared connectivity of the PM6007 and the size of the 607 S2 bookshelf speakers make them the perfect match for a smaller, more intimate home audio experience.
The Marantz PM6007 Integrated Amplifier delivers Marantz's most musical sound and is an ideal choice for those ready to take the next step in their two-channel Hi-Fi system. Powered by a Toroidal power transformer and customized block capacitors, the PM6007 integrated amplifier delivers 45 watts (8ohm, 20Hz-20kHz) of power per channel. You can easily connect both analogue and digital sources or link a turntable to the built-in phono MM pre-amp.
The Bowers & Wilkins 607 S2 Anniversary Edition Bookshelf Speaker is the smaller of the two stand-mount models in the 600 Series. Despite its size, the 607 offers surprising resolution thanks to a host of proprietary technologies originally developed for B&W's flagship range, the 800 Series Diamond—the speakers chosen to be installed at Abbey Road Studios in London for their high-fidelity and detail. With complementary technologies used throughout the series, experience a great sense of harmony and consistency no matter what you listen to.

Hall Of Fame Winner 2021
"Marantz refines its Award-winning budget amp recipe"
2021 Best Stereo Amplifier £400-£600
"Clearer and punchier than its Award-winning predecessor, Marantz’s latest entry-level amplifier never puts the formidable 6000 Series dynasty in doubt"
"The clearest evidence of the line’s evolution lies in the PM6007’s performance. Its sonic character is as familiar as its casework: smooth, full-bodied and balanced, with a pleasing spaciousness. Like its predecessor, it’s about as agreeable a performer as you could ask for at this price."
"The Marantz 6000 Series has allowed the company to have a firm grip on the budget hi-fi market over the past few years, and with the arrival of the PM6007, the amplifier line has been strengthened yet again."
2022 - Best standmount speaker £300-£500
"A happy anniversary for these upgraded B&W 607 S2 speakers"
"This is a cleaner, more insightful and overall more engaging performance from a pair of speakers that were already among the best you could buy for their outlay."
“It has a smooth tonal balance, an impressively extended bass (for a small standmount) and couth treble, plus deft rhythmic articulation and decent dynamics. Indeed, its strength is just where you’d want it to be, in the midband.”
The technology at the core of this amplifier is a toroidal transformer, a component which delivers power more efficiently than standard EI core transformers. The toroidal shape offers greater power in a smaller form so your PM6007 amplifier can do more without taking up extra space in your home. With low levels of electromagnetic radiation and mechanical vibration, the sound is never restricted.
Power from the PM6007’s toroidal transformer is supported by high-current storage capacitors and Schottky Barrier Diodes. These quality components, specially selected for their electrical benefits by experts at Marantz, contribute to a broad dynamic range and low-impedance drive.
Wide bandwidth and high slew rate deliver sound without delay in the PM6007. This is thanks to the current feedback amplifier type adopted for this model. Moreover, advanced thermal compensation prevents memory distortion while power is stored in a substantial energy reserve. This ensures sound clarity remains high.
The PM6007 is equipped with a reference class D/A converter that creates stunning audio quality. It will provide 192-kHz/24-bit resolution so you can get immersed in your favourite music. With a built-in MM phono pre-amp with FET input, you can seamlessly connect to your turntable and optimise your favourite vinyl records.
Offering a subwoofer output, you can take the sound of the bass to another level by connecting the PM6007 to a high-quality subwoofer. The Advanced Thermal Compensation provides minimal memory distortion so you can clean audio.
Although the 607 S2 is the smallest speaker in the range, it benefits from a substantial legacy of British sound innovation. Bowers & Wilkins, now in operations for over half a century, have released the seventh generation of the classic 600 Series after tuning and adapting technologies originally derived for their flagship speakers, the 800 Series—the very same chosen for installation at Abbey Road Studios for their superior fidelity. The 600 Series uses a trickle-down version of this technology, making genuine musicality much more accessible.
The Bowers & Wilkins 607 S2 Anniversary Edition Bookshelf Speakers have been optimised with superior crossover circuitry. The upgraded bypass capacitors featured in these speakers were originally developed for use in the higher-level B&W 700 Signature range. Fitted with a version of this aspirational technology, the 607 S2 is livelier and clearer, a significant step up from any previous generation and more capable of preserving the original audio signal. All this makes it the perfect support for even the biggest speakers in the 600 range.
The five-inch driver of the Bowers & Wilkins 607 S2 is housed in a cabinet roughly 16.5cm wide and 21cm deep. These discrete dimensions allow you to place these speakers in more locations than their larger twin, the 606 S2. Whether on stands, a credenza or—the more traditional option—a bookshelf, the minimalistic design of the cabinet not only performs well, but fits in aesthetically with assorted décors. The speaker is available in three finishes, including black, white and oak, all including detachable grilles embedded with the Bowers & Wilkins name.
The 25mm Decoupled Double Dome tweeter sits at the top of the speaker. Through thorough analysis, Bowers & Wilkins have implemented lightweight materials such as aluminium at key points of stress. This makes the dome more rigid whilst retaining its veracity and responsiveness, raising the tweeter’s overall bandwidth. The tweeter dome is also isolated from the cabinet by a gel-like ring, reducing the effect of reverberation from the driver.
Whilst the five-inch midrange/bass driver of the 607 S2 may look modest in comparison to the larger 606, it still uses the same Continuum cone design to deliver true Bowers & Wilkins performance. This technology was originally developed for use in the 800 Series and now replaces the signature yellow Kevlar cones for their capacity for greater accuracy. FST™ also insulate the driver from travelling vibrations, whilst improving responsiveness.
The final key innovation of the Bowers & Wilkins Anniversary Edition speakers is the eye-catching design of their rear-facing bass reflex, known as the Flowport™. The design uses the same principles as a common golf ball, with the dimpled pattern reducing turbulence as air is pushed from the cabinet—a simple addition to greatly improve performance. The speaker is also supplied with a double cylindrical foam bung, letting you tighten the bass response to your liking.
