View Full DescriptionThe Arcam FMJ CD17 CD player offers unparalleled audio quality at an affordable level. Arcam's expertise in this field, starting with their award-winning 'Alpha' model of the late 1980's is second to none and for the FMJ range, the CD17 blows away competition and fights pound for pound with many rivals at higher price points.
What makes the CD17 really sing is the presence of the on-board Wolfson 8741 digital to analogue converter, set to differential mode driven by an extremely accurate digital clock and audiophile grade supporting components. Arcam's proprietary 'Mask of Silence' technology vastly reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI) where comparable players normally would try to mask this. Arcam's very own 'stealth mat', a unique metal fibre matting, further eliminates EMI meaning every chord, drum roll and guitar solo is faithfully reproduced.
The case construction uses a blend of aluminium and steel to dramatically reduce internal echoing and vibrations. Ideally partnered with Arcam's A18 or A28 stereo amplifier and the result is a staggering insight into sound quality even with complex recordings.
